  • Tasting Notes
Dating back to the 12th century, Château La Tour Carnet is one of the most historic estates in Haut-Médoc, standing as one of only ten châteaux ranked as a Fourth Growth in the prestigious 1855 classification. Today, under the careful stewardship of Bernard Magrez, a revered winemaker known for his Grand Cru Châteaux in Bordeaux, La Tour Carnet has been modernized and refined, combining traditional techniques with cutting-edge viticulture.
The blend is predominantly Merlot (60%), complemented harmoniously by Cabernet Sauvignon (37%) and a touch of Cabernet Franc (3%). Grapes are hand-harvested from 30-year-old vines and aged for 16 months in oak barrels (30% new oak), developing a deep ruby hue that captivates at first glance. Château La Tour Carnet 2016 entices with a luscious bouquet of blueberries, blackcurrant, and subtle licorice, interwoven with warm spices and toasty oak. The palate is full-bodied, silky, and well-structured, with seamlessly integrated tannins leading to a long, persistent finish that leaves a lasting impression on any wine lover.
