CHÂTEAU ANGÉLUS – A LEADING WINEMAKER IN SAINT-ÉMILION

Château Angélus is one of the most prestigious wine estates in Saint-Émilion, recognized as a leading producer of exceptional quality wines in the region. It enjoys a prime location just west of Saint-Émilion town, situated on a gentle south facing slope on the Saint-Émilion plateau a setting that offers ideal conditions for viticulture.

Before 1990, Château Angélus was known as Château L'Angélus or simply L'Angélus one of the most renowned wine estates in Saint-Émilion, situated on the right bank of the Gironde River.
The château has been owned by the Boüard de Laforest family since 1909, when Domaine de Mazaret was passed down to Comte Maurice de Boüard de Laforest. Over the years, the estate expanded with the acquisition of Clos de L'Angélus in 1926, followed by additional parcels from Château Beau-Séjour Bécot in 1969.
The prestigious name Château Angélus was inspired by the three Angelus bells, whose chimes resonate like a symphony of sound from the three churches surrounding the Saint-Émilion hillside.
